The university declared Thomas academically ineligible Friday night. He will miss at least the Seminoles’ remaining 23 regular-season games, beginning with Saturday’s Atlantic Coast Conference opener at Notre Dame.
Coach Leonard Hamilton declined to comment.
Thomas averaged 14.8 points in the ‘Noles’ first eight games. He is one of three FSU players averaging double digits; Montay Brandon (13.4) and Xavier Rathan-Mayes (12.3) are the others.
