For a while, some didn’t want to engage in Elden Ring’s PvP and multiplayer because of overpowered skills such as Bloodhound Step and Rivers of Blood. However, in the latest patch for Elden Ring, a few major changes have been made both to those skills and to the game’s multiplayer as a whole, which has given some a new reason to try out their build against the vast community of players. One fan, known as BobsVegans on Reddit, recently showed off the fun they had with the game’s multiplayer, including displaying a perfect use of the Mimic Veil item.

The Mimic Veil in Elden Ring is an item that allows the player to disguise themselves as part of the environment. In the case of BobsVegans, following their defeat of a host during an invasion, they used the Mimic Veil to try and gain some extra style points after beating their opponent. However, much to BobsVegans’ surprise, they turned themselves into the best thing possible when they used the Mimic Veil, a gravestone, marking the spot of their opponent’s death.

Elden Ring players found this perfect Mimic Veil transformation to be both a hilarious moment and an odd mark of respect for BobsVegans’ opponent. By planting a gravestone next to the spot where they died, many fans noted this would be the closest most Tarnished would get to a proper burial. As the lore of Elden Ring states, Tarnished are not looked upon fondly in the Lands Between and they are very unlikely to be remembered in death, making BobsVegans’ use of the Mimic Veil a funny moment and also one that shows a good amount of respect for their fellow Tarnished.

As well as using the Mimic Veil to get some extra style points following a successful invasion, other players have managed to use the item in different ways. One patient Elden Ring player used the Mimic Veil to great success in the game’s PvP, as they waited for their opponent to walk by them before springing a surprise attack. With so many items to use in Elden Ring, players are sure to find other ways to create hilarious and interesting PvP moments.

Elden Ring is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
