Apparently the developers at 343 Industries feel the same way, and the team’s very own Jessica O’Shea has confirmed that some major upgrades may be applied alongside standard patches.
This news came to light during a recent Halo Bulletin post. Jessica O’Shea confirmed that players can not re-watch videos of themselves playing through the main campaign in Theater Mode, but it’s something that may happen in the future. According to O’Shea, 343 is “treating Title Updates very differently for Halo 4,” and a few may even be packed with new features that will enhance the overall product.
Having the option to save replays of a successful single-player run on ‘Legendary’ difficulty would be a nifty feature, but there’s some other gameplay options that many fans would agree take priority over the ability to watch Master Chief crouch on deceased Covenant soldiers.
One feature that many have wanted is the ability to create in-game clans. 343 is apparently well aware of that particular desire, and they may implement something similar “in the not-too-disant future.”
It’ll probably be some time before any major post-launch updates are made available for Halo 4, but gamers can look forward to free content for Spartan Ops arriving in the weeks following the title’s launch. There will also be DLC available for a fee, of course (some of which will be available through the War Games Map Pass), but it sounds like there will be plenty of freebies arriving as well.
Halo 4 launches on November 6th, exclusively for Xbox 360.
